MEG 14" Alexander Doll LITTLE WOMEN All Original Red Tagged ca. 1948 Vintage

Description

Hard to find early hard plastic 14" MEG by Madame Alexander in tagged original costume with early red tag, ca. 1948.  Tag reads:  Louisa M. Alcott's /LITTLE WOMEN/ "MEG"/ by Madame Alexander N.Y.U.S.A/All Rights Reserved. (red printing). Meg wears a lavender gown with attached inset pique apron trimmed in white eyelet; attached petticoat and matching drawers trimmed with eyelet (waist elastic stretched). Left sleeve underarm seam is coming undone but could easily be repaired. (see photo). Slight fading on pique noted under black velvet ribbon at neck. Some yellowing to pique apron due to age.
Blonde floss wig has a light spot near left temple (see photo). Doll's lower lashes more visible under left eye than right. Full hair type eyelashes on top lids. Paint chips on lips and small nose rub (again see photos for best description).  Meg wears her original shoes but they need repair as both have damage to the strap and won't  fasten; the sole of the right shoe is missing and the left has split up the back seam. One sock has small hole near toe; the other replaced. Discoloration on buttocks shown in pictures.
The doll stand is not included. Her price reflects her issues, so returns are not available on this doll.
Purchased from the original owner, this is one of a set of Little Women dolls  put  away 50+ years ago. This is a vintage doll. For the other dolls in the set, please see my other listings.
I have tried to fully describe the condition of this vintage doll and clothing after thorough examination, pointing out her flaws. Pictures should be considered part of the description. She is priced and sold in "as is" condition, but she could be a wonderful addition to your Little Women collection with a little TLC.
